The ItemStyles XTension works in a similar way to text Style Sheets in XPress. By specifying a name for an ItemStyle, you can save different combinations of the options found in the Modify and Frame dialogs for page items. The ItemStyle can then be applied to text boxes, picture boxes or lines via the ItemStyles palette (or keyboard shortcuts).
Drag the XTension into the same folder as QuarkXPress, then double-click on the QuarkXPress application to start it in the normal way.
When ItemStyles has been successfully installed on your system, it will be available as options in the Edit menu (for creating and editing ItemStyles) and the Item menu (for applying ItemStyles) and the View menu (for showing and hiding the ItemStyles palette).
*IMPORTANT*********
WHEN THIS DEMO VERSION OF ITEMSTYLES HAS BEEN INSTALLED, QUARKXPRESS AND ITEMSTYLES WILL FUNCTION NORMALLY, BUT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SAVE ANY DOCUMENTS, PRINT ANY DOCUMENTS OR EXPORT ANY TEXT.
The Save, Save Text and Print options in the File menu may or may not be dimmed. If these options are not dimmed, you can choose them in the menu. However, clicking OK to the dialog box will QUIT the program WITHOUT SAVING.
